Explain the task and allow Ss some time to read the text and answer the question in the rubric.

 

 

 

             

 

	Main activities   R7     L4	To read for cohesion and coherence             Explain the task and allow Ss time to complete it. Direct Ss to the Word List to look up the meaning of the words in the Check these words box. Check Ss’ answers. To identify the topic of each paragraph Elicit the topic of each paragraph from various Ss around the class. To listen for specific information and ideas   Play the recording. Ss listen and answer the question in the rubric.       Point out that Ss can use the listening task to get ideas for the following writing task			Class CD

Read out the Study Skills box and tell Ss to proofread their work once it is completed.      • Allow Ss time to complete the task in class.
